Do you think i could cut my own hair?

ok my hair is so long, and i just need a trim an inch off. i dont really have any money so i was going to try to do it myself. Do you think that if i part it down the regualar way, i could get an even cut around my hair??? any tips on doing this will help tons! thanks!

If you want it to be a straight even cut on the bottom, it would be smarter to have someone do it for you. But if you dont mind a little bit of varying lengths (within about 1in of eachother) producing a soft effect, I would say go for it. Just remember... don't cut straight across. Section off pieces and pull the ends together with your fingers ( this will make it so you don't cut off too much) and cut up (with the sissors parallel with the hair). Do lots of little cuts and this will trim up your hair and leave a cute edge. This is what most hair dressers do when you get your hair trimmed.

I have done it and messed myself totally crazy and had to call emergency to my hairdresser... it was crazy... it took ages for my hair to grow! i wouldn't suggest you doing it to yourself...

as long as you DON'T just do it in one "SNIP" then you should be fine........ if you do that you'll just end up making a diaganal cut, which will look plain stupid....... lol, trust me, been there, done that. have a friend help you

If you don't have much money you should try and go to a local school where they learn how to do hair. That would be the cheapest way to get your hair done and you don't have to worry about them really messing it up since it a trip. Cutting your own hair will just be bad since you can't tell if its even or not and at least if you go to a school they know a bit more about it!

Just some advice-make sure your hair is wet so it's easier to keep straight while you're cutting it.
