Hi I am currently employed to Baker's Burgers Drive Thru. Its a fast food restaurant around the San Bernardino and Rivereside county. My hair is long but not long like a girls. From my opinion I dont even think its long at all. Well my manager has been telling me to get a hair cut for a while so when I do get a hair cut I tell that I got .5 inch taken off and she tells me she want at least an inch. She talked to me yesterday and she was all stupid about it and she was telling me if I dont get my haircut she doesnt want me to come in to work today and a whole bunch of other crap like saying that she doesnt want me to wear a hair net. So basically shes want to fire me. I was wondering If This was a good reason for her to fire me? What should I do? Im cosidering quitting the job what statement or reason for leaving should I write? Thanks any help needed...and please no stupid answers....

Unless it is a requirement of your employment conditions in writing then she cannot force you to cut your hair. Tell her that she cant make you and that if she continues you will have a harrassment suit lodged against her. If she tries to fire you for it then advise her you are consulting a lawyer about a wrongful dismissal case.

Take some legal advice if you can - however if you dont want the job then quit and let her know she is the reason you are leaving because of her poor people management skills.

Well... i am sure she is just concerened about what costumers will think about her employees and her. Talk to her politely and if she still wants u to get a haircut i think there is no harm, unless u end up looking ridiculous or if it ends up being really short. Try to compromise with her. I think you might do well to consider that an employer has every right to establish a uniform dress code which can define what is appropriate and inappropriate, including not only clothes but also hair length, piercings, facial hair and basically everything that has to do with what the customer will be presented with by a representative of the employer.

That being said, take a deep breath and try to be objective:

- do you generally like the job?

- is the pay fair for the job you do?

- are there other benefits to the job you enjoy? (close to home, like your coworkers, job duties are reasonable, etc.)

Now, would you have been okay getting more than 1/2 inch off your hair (which, seriously, is like nothing) if your manager had been more diplomatic and polite in the way she asked you?

If the majority of your unemotional, objective answers are 'yes', then I would suggest you take a deep breath, and go get your hair cut.

Being willing to compromise to keep your job doesn't make you less of a man - on the contrary, it demonstrates maturity, courage, and a real sense of your true identity - it's not about the length of your hair, it's how you respond to adversity, and if you're willing to rise above it rather than quit and run away.

I dont think she has the right to fire you over your hair. All employees of a restaurant that are cooks are required to wear hair nets. Tell her that you will wear a hair net (if you are a cook) BUT that she doesnt have the right to tell you to cut your hair or else you are fired. Unless it is in your employee manual states a specific length, then no she has no grounds to fire you due to your hair. I would think in the fast food industry, you should wear a hair net if you work with food. so why would she crap about it? If she told you to take the day off however you may have just landed in the no call, no show department which now you really may have just lost your job.... Sounds like you have a crappy boss.

What to write on a application if you quit? Well, I think personal reasons would be acceptable or will tell at interview (if you are willing to talk about it).

It is the food industry but if you are willing to wear a hairnet their shouldn't be a problem. Does she tell the girls that work there to cut their hair? I really think that she is being unfair to you. You did cut your hair it was her fault for not specifying how much she wanted you to cut it. But, it really sounds like she's making an excuse to fire you. but if you need a reason to quit you can always say she is being unreasonable towards you personal style.

Well you're fortunate enough to have strawberry blonde hair, so if you want to do undertones, keep a little bit of the reddish tone there. Maybe a dark, warm red/brown?

By "scene", I'm going to guess you want a choppy haircut - so say that. "Choppy" should do the trick, and bring a picture to show them.

Tell your hairdresser all of this too, and ask for their opinions. If you're not confident in their abilities and opinions, don't trust them with your hair.

I agree 100% with the bangs but DO NOT go this short. It will make your jaws and chin stick out. You want it a bit (at least two inches) below your jaw line. And I think you would look gorgeous if you dye and/or hilite it into a strawberry blond color combination and get a perm. OH MY, you'll look stunning, I promise you that :-)

Definitely consider the perm. That way you won't have to style it everyday. And it's very chic!

If you are talking a drastic change, I would go and do it in stages. Lets say your hair is midback do NOT cut it to shoulder length , have the stylist cut about three inches off and give you some layers that are still longer than the shoulder length. See if you like it before you go all the way. If you want get some highlights that are very close to your color, just to give your hair depth.

Get fashion magazines and try to look for hair cuts that would suit the shape of your face. Then go to your stylist and ask if that haircut would fit you. Also ask for his advise, he would know better. Make friends with your stylist and also let him cut your hair everytime. Then he can always advise you everytime you go to the salon of the newest haircut, hair color or whatever. He is the expert there. For you, be happy with your haircut you choose since you will wear them for months....

Not the best picture to judge by. a shot that is head on would be better, and one where you're not making a face, so people can see the shape of your face better. You have really nice hair though. No, but right after I got off the bus and off the yellow footprints at Parris Island waaaay back when, I was given my gas mask size and they wrote my platoon number on my hand and told me to stand in another line.

That line was to the barbershop, if you want to call it that. An old guy, kinda grumpy, asked, do you have any moles or scars on your head? No, I replied, then, in my head I was thinking, hell, I don't know, who knows that unless they have been shaved bald before! So, I sat there in angst waiting for this guy to find the mole that surely would explode in a bloody mess all over the floor, thankfully there were none. But my imagination is very good, so I clearly saw in my head what that would look like.

The DI would be screaming at me for not telling this guy I had a mole on my scalp, I would sit there and bleed as the other guys mocked me, and I would forever be known to the DIs from day one as Bloody Moron. Heh

But, no, I have never cried after a haircut, and since I didn't cry after that one, I probably never will, unless some dolt chops off my ear or something. Heh.

it will leave the length overall, but make it much more lighter and thinner. i have the same exact features as you, exactly! and with my hair, i have long bangs to the side that go down to my nose. there really easy to manage, but dont cut your bangs (if you get bangs) too short, becasue they will curl up.

by best advise i can give you, is to wait a little bit longer than you normally would, and when you do go and get it done again, ask them to just trim the bottom, so you can grow it out, and ask them to leave the layered hair alone, every other hair cut, have them tidy up the layered ends. do that for about 6-7 months, and you should be in good shape.

it looks like a simple style, after you take away the curls at the tips %26amp; her gorgeous teases tresses. ask for a layered cut around your shoulders [any length would do, really.]

%26amp; for color, take your natural color %26amp; streak it with the colors that aren't already in your hair. like if your a redhead, streak it with dark brown, auburn, and blonde. [not in the same sitting, however, as this could cause color-bleeding and accidental mixing....not very pretty...]

when you get your cut, take the shortest layers, pull them to the front, [after a shower, when your hair can be blow-dried in any form] and just blow dry them to the side. i use bedhead hairspray but you can use any spray you like, and with a comb, just tease the top layer around your scalp...

%26amp; when all else fails, print %26amp; take that picture to your stylist [or email it to her] %26amp; let her do the rest. %26amp; if she can't or isn't sure about it...it's probably time to find a new stylist.

I agree with Morgan, definitely take the picture in when you get it cut. Sometimes describing the haircut to the stylist gives that person a different mental image than what you're actually asking for.

Be sure to tell him/her what it is that you especially like about the cut -- the length, the side-swept bang, etc.

I think I'd ask them while I'm there for suggestions on a new hair color. I like the red in the picture, but maybe you'd look even better with blonde highlights or going a dramatic dark brown.

Chuncked...Not streaked...I just had mine streaked and didn't care for it as much...Of course, after it was done I saw some girl with the same coloring and style, but, her's was chuncked.....Loved it!! is a shoulder-lenght hair cut a good idea for a person with a round face. because i want to cut my hair to about my shoulders or maybe just above my shoulders but my face is really round. is this hair cut going to look ok, or will it make my face look fat?

The curly the hair the longer you have to wear it....mine touches my waist if no one likes it they can not look...if I wore it short I'd have a fro...keep it long if you want it straight.

I'm not sure if short hair is easier or harder to straighten or not, but I can't see where it'd be harder since there's less of it to deal with.

Yup... shoulder cut is better... round faced persons need longer and straighter hair... thin not floppy hair... anyways, if you wanna have straight hair.. try this.one..

1. Conditioner for oily hair

I have naturally oily, straight hair and I used a shampoo with conditioner and then applied a leave-in conditoner to prevent static. It worked! I used mousse and a bit of hair spray and was static-free almost all day.

i get static hair all the time...for short releif of it, use a dryer sheet. i dont know what it is that helps but it does! don't use it for very long though.

Several years ago I was introduced to SEBASTION Potion #9. This is a leave in hair moisturizer, not a conditioner. It's used in place of, after you shampoo. Use it regularly throughout the winter months and you will notice a difference!

4. Winter hair rejuvination Rebecca

Get your hairstylist to color your hair with REDKIN SHADES...this is a conditioning, non-peroxide color wash, you can brighten your hair color by using the shades and mixing with clear to tone down to an acceptable level for your taste. This is a great treatment for the wintertime, it brightens your hair, and deep conditions it at the same time. You'll be hooked after one treatment!

5. Fly Away Hair

If you are having trouble with fly away hair try this. Rinse hair, after shampooing, every now and then with a good liquid clothes conditioner. It greatly cuts down the static in your hair.

6. Surefire Success

Keep your hat on till spring, maybe early summer.

7. To Fight Static...

I have super long (3 1/2 ft. from crown to tips), super thin, super straight hair and static in the winter is a nightmare for me. I have learned 3 good ways of combating it however. #1 Keep a trial size bottle of a leave in spray conditioner with you at all times (you can buy these in drug stores for pennies). #2 Run a dryer sheet over your hair. #3 Spray something like Static Guard over your hair (this may stink but it's effective).

8. Smooth Hair

My stylist told me that when you rinse out your conditioner, you should use colder water. When you look at a piece of hair under a microscope, it looks like the shingles of a roof. When you use colder water to rinse out your conditioner, it closes those "shingles" and makes your hair smoother.

9. Better hair

Before showering, I comb my hair one last time. This helps to distribute the natural oils in your hair. When in the shower, I usually comb my conditioner into my hair paying special attention to the tips because this is where your hair has less moisture. When I'm done I usually blast cold water onto my hair. This helps with keeping the hair moisturized since it closes the hair shaft and it makes your hair extremely shiny.

I assume your talking about natural gray/white hair? If you cut them they'll just grow back and if they're white to begin with then you'll just have to cut them again.

I've been advised that the best way to manage white hair is to pull them up with the roots...seems there's a chance that what will grow back is your ordinary hair color.

It would be better if you find out the root (pun intended) cause of your greying hair, you might have vitB deficiency, poor nutrition, anemia, etc. smoking can also cause early greying. Solve those first if you can. If it's genetic and/or aging then your stuck with them.

I let mine alone, they're going to grow whether I want them to or not, so I figure, why fight the inevitable.

If you have a rounder face, then I would go for a style with definition and angles. It's a nice contrast with the shape of the face. If you're a little daring, I love Posh Beckham's new cut. I think generally a side sweep or fall of hair in the front is flattering to round faces. I have a modified bob that angles toward my face and is about cheekbone height. My whole cut is razored, to give the layers movement and make it a little more edgy. What I would never do (as my face is on the round side, too) is a chin length cut or middle part, as this only accentuates the roundness of my face.

Good luck! And remember, it's just hair. It will grow back if you don't like a look or get bored.

keep it layered...keep the last layer long..and have it really layered and short from up keeep the first layer reallllllly short and have a sloped bang...that would make ur face look long and it will be really nice...

Get to the salon early on tuesday and have a look through their magazines to see if there is a style you like then ask the stylist for advice, they normally suggest what style would suit you and are trained to do it.

Sorry, I know people always ask this, but I honestly don't know what to do with my hair.

Depends how short it is. If you can put it in a ponytail, then you can do that. Otherwise, just put a nice headband or other accessory in your hair, and forget that your hair is too short. I bet most people won't even notice.

My friend got extentions and she said they were a waste of money and they all fell out and looked horrible.

Personally, if you wany highlights, I suggest getting permenant highlights [they're much cheaper] and if you want thicker hair, I suggest just switching shampoo's to a hair thickening one.

I would suggest what they call a 'stacked bob,' it's when hair is a little shorter in back and angles towards your chin, getting longer in the front. bangs also look great with this. If you get a few layers it would thicken up your hair and you could wash-and-wear. I think this would also look amazing once you dye it. The website below shows some examples although they are quite trendy and your hairstylist would probably tone them down a touch.

I think that pink bangs would be a little too much of a change. Maybe you should progress slowly, try slowly going down to a dark brown dye it a light brown, then a dark brown, and then do the pink. You can always dye it back if you dont like it.

theres no top answer to this question really, there are loads of hot haircuts, but it really depends on your face shape, colouring, etc. The best bet is to ask your hairdresser, come up with a few options and choose your favourite,

i always do that, if you get too set on an idea, sometimes it just doesnt end up looking the way you want and it can be very upsetting, especially if you cut a lot of hair off.
