Cut my own hair?

I thought I was getting a hair cut before school, but no. So, my bangs grew out over the summer, they are now chin length, and I hate them that long because they get stringy and flat. I usually like them to be angled bangs, sweeping my eyebrow...so I was thinking maybe I should just cut them myself. Not the rest of my hair though. I was going to get my friend to help me.

But I wanted to know if anyone has any tips on how to make it look the best? Or what to avoid?

Please do not say "Don't do it" unless you have a really good reason (a.k.a. a reason besides "leave it to the pros"). I have cut my friends' hair and am not stupid...I just want tips on making it come out the best it possibly can.

This is what you do. If you want the right side ( for ex.) to be the shortest part of the angle.

1. Pull all the bang to the right side.

2. Twist the hair one time left to right

3. cut the bang the length of the shortest part you want ( I would start off a bit longer because you can always go shorter but can't go back longer unless you wait)

Do this when the bangs are dry

I used to cut my own hair all the time, it rarely comes out good, mostly because you can't see the backside.

Anyway if you do want to try it, I would say get a razor and buzz its your best chance of making it look good.

i know from experience that cutting ur hair ur self is harder than doing someone else. but bangs are easy so dont hold them too tight and cut away!

dont cut at an angle it doesnt work that way just cut then to like 1/2 and inch longer than where u want then to be( wet hair is heavier than dry hair so it sags)

I cut my own hair all the time! I think I do pretty well, because that other day, an asian woman at china town asked me who cut my hair, and i said myself, and she didn't belive me.

okay, so here is how you do the bangs. first, scrape off the top layer of your bangs, and cut them so they are like a few milimeters above your eybrow, the take the hair under that and make it a little longer, so that it sweeps the bottom of your eyebrow. the hair will kind of curl overnight, so when it curls, it looks like it is gently tapping your eyebrow
